A hundredfold blessing!!

Isaac planted crops in that land and the same year reaped a hundredfold, because the Lord blessed him.

                                                                                                                                            Gen 26:12

My husband once was talking to a farmer. He was curious to know how much a crop produced under different situations. So there were a series of questions addressed to the farmer. Here is the summary of the answers that my husband noted. Under a normal condition we may expect the crop to produce thirty fold. If a little more care is taken the we may expect a sixty fold. With utmost care, good soil and with the perfect weather conditions we can expect a hundredfold.

Wow exactly what our Lord had said in the parable of the sower!!

Every one expects a better return for their investment even if it is going to be a ten fold return. Some are satisfied with their ten fold, some with their twenty etc. God expects us to receive the maximum; a hundredfold just like Isaac. What else can we expect from a person like Isaac. If he had produced a thirty fold or a sixty fold then that would have been a surprise. God blessed him then how could he have produced less?

Isaac was a man of God. God had renewed the promise made to Abraham to Isaac after his death. He just wanted Isaac to obey him and he confirmed his oath to Abraham by blessing Isaac. God's blessing is always maximum, cup overflowing and running over. The blessing of the Lord draws everyone's attention. People, many a times, are jealous seeing our blessing. You cannot hide God's blessing. The same God who blessed Isaac is ready to bless you too.

We need to experience, as children of God, the maximum blessing of God! Maximum Healing, Peace, Prosperity, Authority. We need not suffer with ailments, we need not be pressed down with financial burdens. We need to be like kings in this world with God on our side and not as slaves.

Are you ready to receive a hundredfold blessing? All we need to do is take utmost care to obey his word, be a good soil to take in God's word, wait in his presence and make the conditions perfect in his presence.

Amen!! Hallelujah!!

HA HA HA!!!

HA HA HA!!!

A child came home from Sunday School and told his mother  that he had learned a new song about a cross-eyed bear named  Gladly.  It took his  mother a while before she realized that  the hymn was really "Gladly The Cross I'd Bear,"

An elderly woman had just returned to her home from an evening of religious service when she was startled by an intruder. As she caught the man in the act of robbing her home of its valuables, she yelled, "Stop - Acts 2:38!" (..turn from your sin...) The burglar stopped dead in his tracks. The woman calmly called the police and explained what she had done.
As the officer cuffed the man to take him in, he asked the burglar, "Why did you just stand there? All the old lady did was yell a scripture to you."
"Scripture?" replied the burglar, "She said she had an AXE and two 38's!"

A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked his father, who was a minister, if they could discuss the use of the car. His father took him to his study and said to him, "I'll make a deal with you. You bring your grades up, study your Bible a little and get your hair cut and we'll talk about it." After about a month the boy came back and again asked his father if they could discuss use of the car. They again went to the father's study where his father said, "Son, I've been real proud of you. You have brought your grades up, you've studied your Bible diligently, but you didn't get your hair cut!"
The young man waited a moment and replied, "You know Dad, I've been thinking about that. You know, Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair...." To which his father replied, "Yes, and they walked every where they went!"

Adam & Eve had the perfect marriage.
He didn't have to hear about all the men she could have married and she didn't have to hear about how well his mother cooked!

Law of the Lord!!

The law of the Lord is perfect,
    refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy,
    making wise the simple.

Ps 19:7

If anything could be called perfect in this imperfect world it would be the word of God alone. These imperfections came when sin entered the world through the disobedience of man. The blessing given by God that man's works of hand will be fruitful ceased to be. He had to toil night and day to make ends meet. He couldn't question God. He knew he was to blame. He had a perfect God. The perfect God had said, the day you eat of the tree of the good and evil, you will die. Man was experiencing the death. But the love of God could not keep him away from the fallen man. He readies a sacrifice. He sends his only son, Jesus to reconcile mankind.

Law of this sin filled world may seem easy and refreshing to our eyes but it will pull down. Law of the Lord may seem tough but it is refreshing to the soul. It revives the soul, keeps it away from perishing, keeps us alive in this world of imperfection through Jesus, our Savior. God's word show light to our path. We need not fear of any hurdles or pits. When we adhere to God's laws no one can come against us because God will be our shield. We will be made wise. The simple go and suffer but the wise will inherit the world. The statutes of the Lord makes us wise.

In this cunning world we need wisdom to escape from the devil's plans. Law of the Lord teaches us wisdom. Solomon asked wisdom to rule over his people, he was wise in doing so. A man with lots of riches and no wisdom will lose everything in matter of no time. But a poor man with only wisdom will earn or inherit many riches.

Lets seek the statutes and law of the Lord and remain blessed in this world.

Amen!! Hallelujah!!

Faith as a mustard seed!!

I read this poem and it really is moving.... Just wanted to share it with you friends..

Faith

Increase our faith so we may see
What you’re doing in our lives
And all that we’ll accomplish in you
So our faith begins to rise

We need to be reminded, Lord,
Of the small mustard seed
And how the same amount of faith
Moves mountains if we believe

As we walk in pure obedience
With confidence in you,
Our faith begins to grow and flourish
Bearing more abundant fruit

We must go beyond the limits
Of our comfort zones,
Our faith is activated at those times
When we walk into the unknown

For it’s when the safety net is gone,
We realize we need our Lord,
When there’s nothing left to fall back on,
We must lean on God much more

And faith is released in our hearts
As we bend our knee to pray;
We shall be strengthened as we walk
And commit to Him each day.

By M.S.Lowndes

Yeah let's pray so that our faith will be released and we will be strengthened and commit to Him always.

Amen! Hallelujah!!

A lighter moment!!

    Laugh time!!

  • Goliath's Grief
Why was Goliath so surprised when David hit him with a stone? Because nothing like this had ever entered his mind before.

  • A Sunday School teacher had just concluded her lesson and wanted to make sure she had made her point. She said, “Can anyone tell me what you must do before you can obtain forgiveness of sin?”

There was a short pause and then, from the back of the room, a small boy spoke up. "Sin," he said.

  •  A Minister was walking down the street when he came upon a group of about a dozen boys, all of them between 10 and 12 years of age.

The group had surrounded a dog. Concerned lest the boys were hurting the dog, he went over and asked "What are you doing with that dog?"

One of the boys replied, "This dog is just an old neighborhood stray. We all want him, but only one of us can take him home. So we've decided that whichever one of us can tell the biggest lie will get to keep the dog."

Of course, the reverend was taken aback. "You boys shouldn't be having a contest telling lies!" he exclaimed. He then launched into a ten minute sermon against lying, beginning, "Don't you boys know it's a sin to lie," and ending with, "Why, when I was your age, I never told a lie."

There was dead silence for about a minute. Just as the reverend was beginning to think he'd gotten through to them, the smallest boy gave a deep sigh and said, "All right, give him the dog."

The jokes are not intended to offend anyone. Just to have a lighter moment is the idea!! I apologize if this has offended anyone.

Upright will flourish!!

The house of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent of the upright will flourish.  Pro 14:11

Many a times we feel people who do wrong things like harm others are enjoying the pleasures of the earth. They seem happy and satisfied in the kind of life they live and their cunning and arrogant character is fed. They seem to succeed in all they do while the upright and the righteous seem to suffer.

The word of God says the house of the wicked will be destroyed. Whatever may seem to be with the wicked their house will be destroyed meaning all that they think they have will be gone in a blink of the eye. All the fortune they have stored up will be gone. All the family they have will desert them. They will fall from their place in no time because their trust is not on the Lord. They have not put their foundation on the Rock. Their foundations are shaky. No matter what they do to keep it from being destroyed, it will not be of any use.

The righteous or the upright will flourish because their trust is in the Lord. They may seem to suffer in this world but their tent will not be destroyed, it will flourish. Not only in this world will they flourish but they will live through happily even in eternity. They will have no fear about anything. The people who trust in the Lord need fear no bad news. All they do will be blessed. God will prosper their house and all they things they do will prosper. The business they do, their family, their relationship, their friends and all.

So friends fear nothing, trusting in the Lord is all you need to do to be called upright. Abraham trusted the Lord and it was considered as righteous for him. That's all is what we need to do and we will flourish!!

Amen!! Hallelujah!!

Redemption! Plan of God!!

My lips will shout for joy when I sing praise to you, I, whom you have redeemed.
My tongue will tell of your righteous acts all day long, for those who wanted to harm me have been put to shame and confusion.
                                         Ps 71: 23,24

Redemption is something that Jesus Christ planned for us even before he created man. He is a God who knows everything even before they could possibly happen. The sacrifice of his son Jesus was to be. Whether we believe it or not, whether we take it or not, the redemption is there for each and every person. Those who believe, are redeemed and they shout for joy as this psalmist. The happiness of being redeemed is not something like winning a race, it is much more than that. It is the victory over sin, sickness, poverty etc.. it is a shout of victory over Satan.

There is a story about A.J. Gordon, pastor of a church in Boston. Once he saw a boy carrying a rusty cage in which several birds fluttered nervously. Gordon inquired, "Son, where did you get those birds?"
The boy replied, "I trapped them out in the field." "What are you going to do with them?" "I'm going to play with them, and then I guess I'll just feed them to an old cat we have at home." When Gordon offered to buy them, the lad exclaimed, "Mister, you don't want them, they're just little old wild birds and can't sing very well." Gordon replied, "I'll give you $2 for the cage and the birds." "Okay, it's a deal, but you're making a bad bargain." The exchange was made and the boy went away. Gordon walked around to the back of the church property, opened the door of the small wire coop, and let the struggling creatures soar into the blue. The next Sunday he took the empty cage into the pulpit and used it to illustrate his sermon about Christ's coming to seek and to save the lost -- paying for them with His own precious blood.

When we are neck deep in sin and troubles pull us down and there is no way of release from the situation, there comes the hand of Jesus to pull us out of it all. We can go on and on about how we were redeemed from each trouble. To tell about the righteous acts of our God one day will not suffice. All who turned against us will not stand before now because God is fighting for us. They will be turned to dust. If God is for us who can be against us the word says.

We speak so many vile things with this tongue of ours when we should be speaking the redemption Jesus has given us and of all the righteous acts he has done. Let's not take the redemption for granted. We have been redeemed with a high price, with the most valuable blood of Jesus. It is important that we stay redeemed. Redeemed! Redeemed! Redeemed! is the shout of joy!!

Amen!! Hallelujah!!

Love the Lord and be delivered!!

"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
             Ps 91:14

The rescue from the Lord does not come because he is without sin, because he has perfectly kept all my precepts, because he has merit and is worthy to be delivered and guarded, but just by the mere fact that he loves the Lord. The 'he' here refers to each one of us. All God expects us to do is love him. The Hebrew verb (chasaq) translated as “loves” in the first causal clause denotes an intense and passionate attraction for someone. We need to love God in that sense, be passionate about him. When we are like that we can see the deliverance.

Some time ago, a teenager, Arthur Hinkley, lifted a 3,000-pound tractor with his bare hands. He wasn’t a weight lifter, but his friend, Lloyd Bachelder, 18, was pinned under a tractor on a farm near Rome, Maine. Hearing Lloyd scream, Arthur somehow lifted the tractor enough for Lloyd to wriggle out. Love motivated him to do it. Our Father in heaven heard the screams of lost humanity, crying out for deliverance. He sent His one and only precious Son to the cross so that our sins could be lifted off of us and on to Himself. Love motivated Him to do it.

The protection of the Lord comes to those who acknowledge his name. Acknowledge here again means with personal intimacy. We need to know the Lord intimately, we need to be close to his heart. He will lift us up and put us at a lofty place, meaning He would deliver us from all our troubles in such a manner that we would be far far away from them. Nothing can touch us again anymore.

How much do we love the Lord? How much do we acknowledge him? Are we down in neck deep troubles? Do we feel we don't have anyone to deliver us, rescue us? Do not fear! There is a loving Father who sent his only begotten Son, Jesus. Trust in him, love him, acknowledge him and you will be delivered.

Amen!! Hallelujah!!

Slow to anger

The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. Ps 145:8

God is slow to anger; are we? Anger is a negative, fatal force in the life of the Christian, as it is directly opposed to the mercy which God has poured out on us, and has called us to pour out on others. Anger is the beginning of malice and bitterness.

When was the last time you felt at the end of your tolerance level with people? “If she says that again, I’m going to throw her out.” “If she does that to me again, I’m going to walk right out that door.” We may not carry through with our threats, but the fact remains, our patience is exhausted, and we feel we are about to have a nervous breakdown. Our breaking point probably varies from day to day, and on any given day everybody’s breaking point is slightly different. But there is one person whose patience level is always absolutely higher than ours. It is part of God’s nature to be slow to anger.

A lady once came to Billy Sunday and tried to rationalize her angry outbursts. "There's nothing wrong with losing my temper," she said. "I blow up, and then it's all over."
"So does a shotgun," Sunday replied, "and look at the damage it leaves behind!"

Our sin is a terrible wrongdoing to God’s holy personality, and His justice cries out for its punishment. But at the same time, His love is craving to forgive us, His grace is making it possible for Him to forgive us even though we do not deserve it, His mercy is reaching out to us in compassion over the consequences which our sin has caused us, and His long-suffering is delaying the punishment we deserve, giving us the opportunity to repent and trust His grace. He is rich in love. What a magnificent God!

He is gracious, compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. All these are what make him God!! Man is fast to anger and poor in love. If God was like that then there would be no earth. His mercy is what makes the world go round today. Let’s learn from our God to be slow to anger and rich in love. Let’s forgive one another and spread the love of Jesus.

Amen!! Hallelujah!!

Jesus love endures forever!!

Then they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe his promise.
They grumbled in their tents and did not obey the Lord.
                                                                                   Psalms 106: 24, 25

What a sad thing!! God had planned to give a land flowing with milk and honey to the people of Israelites. The people despised the pleasant land the verse says. The pleasant land that God had so carefully planned and kept for his people was despised by them. They were treated as slaves and with so much contempt and disrespect in Egypt that anything they got better than that should have been held by them with utmost happiness. God had kept a land flowing with milk and honey and they despised it. Such a sad thing! They did not believe in his promise the verse further says. God is a faithful God, He is so true to his promises and he has proved it so many times to our forefathers.

Even to Abraham, God promised and blessed him with Isaac at an advanced age. Our God is a good God, we can never find any fault with any of his acts or words. His words stands through eternity. He loves us very much and promises us with blessings that we cant even imagine about. We have such a kind of God. Not to believe in His promise and to grumble against him and not to obey the Lord is a very wrong thing to do. The Israelites were tortured in Egypt and they cried unto the Lord for them to be delivered. God heard their cry and brought them out of their slavery and trouble to take them to a wonderful and pleasant land. But their hearts were hardened so much that they despised it. They grumbled against the Lord and did not obey him.

How many time have we despised the plan of God? How many times have we not believed in his promises? How many times have we grumbled against the Lord? How many times have we disobeyed the Lord?

God's plan is always the best for us. God's blessings cannot be bad at all. All he expects us to do is believe in his promises and obey him. Be happy in the place he has kept us in. God's love cannot be fathomed. He stooped down from the heaven to reach to us, to save us. Why should he do it? He could have just let man die in his sins or destroyed the mankind and created man again. But he didn't do so; the reason, love!!

People celebrate the love of one another in this sin filled world. But what actually needs to be celebrated is God's love for us. We should always be sure about the fact that God always plans the best for us. We should surrender ourselves completely to his plans and not despise or grumble or disbelieve or disobey God. God is a good God, His love endures forever!!

Amen!! Hallelujah!

                                                                              TO BE CONTINUED......

Why fear?!!

The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked advance against me to devour me,
it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall.
Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me, even then I will be confident.
                                                                                             Psalm 27: 1-3

Fear!! The thing that drives mankind to fall many of the times. Fear drives a man crazy. In this world we do have trials and temptations but God has given us his strength to overcome it all. He is our light. He is our salvation. He is the stronghold of our life then who should we fear, why should we fear? Fear comes in when we don't believe in all these.

When we have the knowledge about our Lord, the kind of protection he is to us, we need not fear anything at all. Israelites  did not know about the Lord who had called them out of Egypt so they feared that the worst would happen at the Red sea. But Lord proved them otherwise. Unfortunately the did not know the Lord for the rest of the 40 yrs they wandered in the wilderness and so died without entering the promised land. This could be us! If we don't get to know our Savior then we may get lost in this world and may never enter the promised eternity. Fear of things may keep us away from getting to know the Lord so be of caution!! There is nothing to fear since God is on our side.

Louis Pasteur is reported to have had such an irrational fear of dirt and infection he refused to shake hands. President and Mrs. Benjamin Harrison were so intimidated by the newfangled electricity installed in the White House they didn't dare touch the switches. If there were no servants around to turn off the lights when they went to bed, they slept with them on.

It is said that the Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin so feared for his safety that his residence in Moscow contained eight bedrooms. Each night Stalin chose a bedroom at random to ensure that no one knew exactly where he was sleeping.

This is a nice quote I read somewhere, 'Sometimes the Lord calms the storm. Sometimes he lets the storm rage and calms his child.' So lets not look at the situations that surround us but look on to our Lord always. People fear so many things unnecessarily. When we put our trust in the love and sovereignty of out Lord we can be confident and wont stumble or fall even if the whole world comes against us! So Why Fear?!

Amen! Hallelujah!!

God is faithful!!

………………..The Lord is faithful to all his promises and loving towards all he has made
                                                                                                                                  Ps 145: 13

We make so many promises in our life. How many do we keep? How many promises we make that cannot be kept? We can go on and on with these questions. But our God is a faithful God. He keeps his promises always. He does not promise one thing and refrain from doing it or making it happen. He loves us so much and that’s the reason why he is faithful to us. We have not been, at many occasions, faithful to the Savior who laid down His life for us.

There is this story of Spurgeon’s Grand father. He had a large family and a very small income, but he loved his Lord, and he would not have given up his preaching of the Gospel for anything. He had a little farm to get his earning from, and he had a cow which used to give milk for his many children, and one day when he came up to the cow it fell back and died. His wife said, `James, how will God provide for the dear children now? What shall we do for milk?' 'he said, `God said He would provide, and I believe He could send us fifty cows if He pleased.'

"It so happened that on that day a number of gentlemen were meeting in London, persons whom he did not know, were sitting as a committee for the distribution of money to poor ministers, and they had given it to all who had asked for it. After the gentlemen had distributed to all who had asked there was five pounds over, and they were considering what they should do with this balance.

"'Well,' said one, `there is a Mr. Spurgeon in Essex, a poor minister. He stands in need of five pounds.' `Oh,' said another, 'don't send him five pounds. I will put five to it. I know him. He is a worthy man.' `No,' said another, 'don't send him ten pounds. I will give another five pounds if somebody else will put a fourth five to it.'

The next morning came a letter that had twenty pounds in it. Amen!!

That is the faithfulness of our God! He knows all our needs. He will provide for us. All we need to do is trust in His love.

Amen!! Hallelujah!!
